Eat More Cake! Encouraged by her success baking for Toronto’s legendary Cow Café, Dufflet Rosenberg (CEO, Dufflet Group Inc.) established Dufflet Pastries in 1975. Today, the Dufflet Pastries wholesale division proudly supplies restaurants, cafés, caterers, grocers and gourmet food shops across Canada with a dynamic selection of desserts from her classic Signature Collections and packaged specialty lines.
From cakes to cookies, and from wedding to celebration cakes, each Dufflet item is hand-crafted from scratch. Her creations feature only premium ingredients, with no hydrogenated fats or oils, nor artificial flavours, colours or preservatives added.
In 1982 Dufflet opened her original store on Queen Street West which remains a Toronto institution for the city’s most memorable desserts and celebration cakes. This Downtown retail café offers a complete range of items for pre-order online or walk-in purchases. Along with greeting cards, and gourmet candy and chocolate, the café is also host to Queen Specific, a curated window space by The Shell Projects displaying installations by local visual artists.
Eat More Chocolate! In response to popular demand, Dufflet Small Indulgences was launched in 2006. This line of gourmet chocolates and confections, famous for its award winning Nutt-e, is available in fine food stores and gift shops across North America.
Daniele Bertrand joined Dufflet Pastries in 2006 as President of Dufflet Group Inc. To accommodate the growth in product lines, the original Dufflet head office and production bakery on Dovercourt relocated to a larger facility on Norseman in Etobicoke in 2009.
The Dufflet bakery has achieved the elite BRC Global Standard for Food Safety certification in recognition of the facility passing the rigorous standards set by the world’s leading food safety and quality certification program. This certification is reviewed and renewed annually.
A line of packaged desserts, including gluten-free versions of Dufflet’s popular Cakelet® flavours, is certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Program. A plant-based collection of vegan desserts was introduced in 2019 and now certified by VegeCert.
PS/ How do you pronounce Dufflet’s name? When she was a little girl, her big brother had the nickname Duff and she wanted a nickname too so she became Duff-let!
